Arline T. Bauer

Arline T. Bauer, age 83, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, formerly of 1231 North 9th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center surrounded by her family.

Arline was born January 31, 1930 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Sydow Backus. Arline was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. On September 17, 1949 she married Donald R. Bauer in Manitowoc. Arline was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and had been active with the Christian Women of the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church.

Arline is survived by her husband of 63 years: Don; six children: Christine (Jerry) Zinkel, Manitowoc; John Bauer, Eugene, OR; Jeanne Kucera, Manitowoc; Tom (Maryanne) Bauer, Erin, WI; David (Lori) Bauer, Garden Grove, CA; Jim (Allison) Bauer, Charleston, SC; 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters: Geraldine Reinicke, Manitowoc; Eunice Lorenzen, Centennial, CO; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends including lifelong special friend: LaVerne Braun, Whitelaw, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Irene Backus; brother-in-law: Robert Reinicke; two nephews: Eric and Peter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with entombment of her cremains to take place at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Bob Beehner. The visitation will continue on Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Following the church services there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Arline’s name.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for the care and comfort that was provided to Arline while she was a resident there.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
